The Kyle Police Department is ready to announce the Fall 2013 Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA). This academy is designed for adult citizens who either reside in the City of Kyle or who own a business within the City. The CPA application is attached below which can be downloaded and returned to the police department. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 6, 2013. The start date of the Fall Academy is Thursday September 19, 2013.

The academy is 10 weeks long, plus a graduation. Classes are one night per week (Thursday nights from 6p-9p) plus two Saturdays. This hands-on course will allow citizens a wonderful opportunity to learn about the operations of the Kyle Police Department. Attendees will also be allowed to ride out with a police officer once reaching a specified level of training.  Once the graduate completes the course, they are provided the opportunity to join the Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association designed to maintain close working relationship with the police department and future CPA classes.

The Kyle Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association has recently been established within the last year with a large percentage of the graduates from the inaugural Citizens Police Academy and the fall academy participating who are looking forward to volunteering their time with a variety of programs to include the Kyle Health and Safety Fair, Warrant Round-up Phone Bank and numerous other volunteer opportunities with the Kyle Police Department.
