Want to know more about the new budget? I’ve highlighted a few of the things that stood out to me:
-increase in property taxes of $0.0399 per $100 of valuation, bringing the total property tax assessment to $0.5244 per $100 of valuation.
-approved adding a part-time animal control officer who will cover some nights and weekends
– includes a 20% increase in water and wastewater rates for all City of Kyle Water Utility customers.
-budget also allows for the hiring of two full-time and one part-time dispatcher for the police department to relieve overtime for the department’s communication staff

Does anyone know how many times our water bill has increased over the past 5 years? It seems like a lot but then again, I am not sure…so was looking to see if anyone could recall?
I’ll look into it more, but I’ve lived in Kyle for the last 2 years and our rates have seemingly increased both years. I’m not 100% on that, but our usage hasn’t increased while our bills have! When I get some more info, I’ll let you know what I find.
